The Mason-Dixon Regiment

American Civil War Living Historians

                                Welcome to 2010

The Mason-Dixon Regiment

Two successful days of living history at West Overton and Derry Area School District has left the regiment ready to once again provide an educational experience for the students of Franklin-Regional Middle School.  This event will be the third of the Mason-Dixon Regiments teaching series on the American Civil War.

Next the regiment is off to Gettysburg Campground for the first of three Civil War living history weekends.  Dates are June 5-7, July 3-5, August 13-15, 2010.  Camp will be open all day long with evening vignettes performed by the people of the regiment.  Don't miss these fun-filled weekends at historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania!

A promotion was in the works during our first drill weekend of 2009.  Musician Bret Albaugh was promoted to Musician Corporal on Saturday, April 25th.  Bret is one of two remaining founding members of the band and has demonstrated leadership qualities that will make him an outstanding non-commissioned officer.  He graciously accepted the promotion and thanked the command staff.

Our new Sibley tent has arrived!  The tent will be utilized to showcase our civilian wares and children's activities.  Make sure you stop by one of our reenactments and check out the display.

Thanks to Don and Becky Becker, The Mason-Dixon Regiment now has an official banner to be proudly displayed during our functions.  Skillfully hand-crafted by Becky, the banner will provide great inspiration to the entire Regiment as an example of the dedicated and talented folks in our midst.
